Description Of Duties: The local Security Officer will work under the supervision of the International Field Security Officer and will be responsible for a variety of duties related to maintaining the safety and security of WHO staff, premises, and assets in Ethiopia. These duties include maintaining accurate staff lists, coordinating the country warden system, establishing SMS or other rapid alert systems, providing specific security briefings to new personnel, conducting security training missions, monitoring and ensuring SRM security compliance, attending ASMT and Security Cell meetings, and providing security situation reports. The Security Officer will also be responsible for providing technical oversight for contracted security providers, acting as the direct focal point for security guards and supervisors in areas assigned, providing 24-hour response to all security-related incidents involving WHO staff and eligible dependents, and performing other related duties as required.

Qualification & Experience:
- A first university degree in Military studies, public or business administration, social or political sciences, police science, international relations, government, law or related field. Formal security training/certification.
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience at national and international levels with experience in field security operations. Experience in country Military or Police is required.
- Experience within UN or other international organizations will be an advantage. Experience in investigations is desirable.
