IOM Job Vacancy 2021
Core Functions / Responsibilities: Provide strategic inputs to the CoM on migration management to assist in formulating overall Country Office strategy, policies, and approaches. Organize and prepare written outputs for the CoM and Senior Management such as briefing notes, talking points, position and background papers and provide input as requested. Develop and implement IOM Ethiopia’s migration management strategy and programme and to ensure high quality of deliverables. Guide IOM contributions to the development of migration management-related policy, undertaking technical reviews and analyses of issues and trends, providing technical advice to the Government of Ethiopia (GoE) and the UN Country Team (UNCT), and informing policy development processes.
Position in Organization:
- Position Title : Senior Programme Coordinator (Migration Management)

- Classification : Professional Staff, Grade P4
- Type of Appointment : Fixed term, one year with possibility of extension

Qualification:
- Master’s degree in International Relations, Political or Social Sciences, Development Studies, Law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with seven years of relevant professional experience; or
- University degree in the above fields with nine years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Experience in managing migration management programmes, including migrant protection and assistance, and IBM in contexts requiring close liaison with senior government authorities and major donors;
- Experience devising and delivering strategic/technical assistance and capacity building solutions in the field of migration management to institutions and key stakeholders;
- Experience managing UN coordination and/or joint programmes/activities on migration.
