Pact Job Vacancy 2022
Job Position: Pact seeks to hire an experienced Chief of Party (COP) for the anticipated ECA opportunity. The COP will be responsible for strategic direction, leadership, management, and oversight of all project activities. The COP will ensure high-quality project implementation and performance, with a focus on achieving the expected results. The COP will spearhead coordination of activities across all relevant parties, including USAID, the Government of Ethiopia, implementing partners, civil society, and private sector stakeholders. The COP will oversee all project staff and sub-partners for results-oriented planning and coordination of activities through 1) the annual work planning and budgeting process, 2) creating and maintaining an effective project management team, and 3) overseeing an effective monitoring and evaluation system.

Qualification & Experience:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited university in Public Health, or a relevant field.
- At least ten (10) years of experience in the successful implementation of international development activities, with preference given to maternal and child health, family planning and/or nutrition activities.
- At least eight (8) years of experience as a COP or in a comparable managerial position on donor-funded health and nutrition projects, preferably for USAID programs.
- Demonstrated understanding of the role of civil society in accountable health programs in Ethiopia.
- Experience building capacity for civil society organizations and/or local health organizations in Ethiopia.
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to perform and collaborate in complex and politically sensitive project environments.
- Experience working on and leading teams for USAID contracts and/or cooperative agreements.
- Knowledge of USAID rules, regulations, and policies.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully building and effectively managing a diverse team of employees and partners.
- Demonstrated ability to work in complex environments, and work with and between different stakeholders, including civil society organizations, government institutions, private sector entities, and US Government agencies.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with government and civil society stakeholders.
- Demonstrated skills in problem solving and consensus building.
- Fluency in English (oral, writing, and reading)
- Ability to travel within Ethiopia and occasionally internationally when health and safety concerns regarding COVID-19 diminish.
