UNDP Job Vacancy 2021

Duties and Responsibilities:

The national consultant is expected to work closely and provide the following support to the international Handbook expert, UN Women Ethiopia Office (ECO) and the police institution:

  • Assisting ECO in identifying a selected police institution at federal level and ensure commitment to lead on the rollout of the police handbook
  • Assist ECO in the provision of support to the police institution in planning and implementing the activities related to the rollout of the handbook as per consultation the international Handbook expert and ECO.
  • Assist ECO and the Police institution in organizing training events, translation of communications, when need be, preparation of the training material, logistics and other related travel arrangements.
  • As the in-country liaison, provide direct support to the International handbook expert.
  • Ensure close coordination and functionality of the Handbook Rollout Team that is comprised of programme staff from ECO and the police institution.
  • Ensuring effective communication between the ECO programme team and the Police Institution
  • Ensure communication with key stakeholders at the local and national level.

  • Knowledge and work experience on gender equality issues and good knowledge of institutional mandates, policies and approaches as they pertain to policing, gender equality, women’s rights, safety and security, including the use of sex-disaggregated statistical information.
