UNECA Job Vacancy 2021
Duties and Responsibilities: The Consultant will provide coordination support in the production of the ERA. The intellectual content of the report will be led and driven by ECA but the Consultant will support the coordination, administrative and dissemination of the report and liaise with the various divisions in the preparation of the report, consult with relevant partners and ensure appropriate outreach. Specifically, the Consultant will undertake the following;
- Support the preparatory work on the production of the ERA including the preparation of concept note and other background analytical notes;
- Liaise with relevant divisions of ECA that will provide different inputs and parts of the report;
- Liaise with resource persons that may support the preparation of the report;
- Undertake the coordination of the production of the report with inputs from relevant divisions;
- Liaise with partners and key stakeholders on the report;
- Support the outreach and dissemination of the report;
- Undertake any other tasks that may be assigned in the preparation and dissemination of the report.

Qualification:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in economics, social sciences, public administration and political science, statistics, development studies or related fields is required. A first-level university degree with combination of two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A PhD is an advantage.
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of work experience in academia, research institutions, international organisation, public service or related institution is required. Scholarly publishing and track record of publishing on African development issues in peer reviewed journals, books and other scholarly publications is desirable. Experience in journal editing is an advantage. experience in working with the United Nations and African development issues and challenges, with demonstrated ability to formulate programmes/ projects, provide advice and guidance on strategic matters is an advantage.
