Duties and Responsibilities: Under the overall guidance of the Coordinator of the ATPC and the direct supervision of the focal person of Communications of the project, the consultant will be responsible for the following duties:
- Implement ATPC’s advocacy, communication and dissemination strategy that includes media outreach and social media content creation.
- Work with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the ATPC/ECA’s strategy;
- Results-based programming approach is appropriately reflected in the communication strategy, work plan and products;
- Maintain close collaboration with ECA Communication Team that includes HQ Communication Officers and Sub-regional Communication Officers for effective overall coordination;
- Support and evaluate results of communication campaigns with the team.
- Promote a better understanding of AfCFTA and ATPC’s contribution towards increased, inclusive and environmentally friendly intra-African trade flows through the implementation of the AfCFTA;
- Develop, maintain and update media relations contact list/database;
- Establish, document, review and refine process of communicating with media contacts, including press conferences and events, issuing of media materials etc;
- Ensure rapid and accurate information dissemination to the media and other appropriate audiences;
- Identify, develop, distribute and evaluate a variety of media materials in multiple, appropriate formats. Ensure the quality and appropriateness of communication materials, activities, processes and messages transmitted to the press, partners and the public;
- Monitor and evaluate the use and effectiveness of media materials and share results and findings;
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists and key external role-players.
- Develop simple and informative multimedia materials (incl. press releases, media packs and briefings, video clips, social media posts and internal newsletters) to increase awareness amongst specific target audiences;
- Use appropriate tools and channels to convey clear, targeted and focused messages to different target audiences;
- Handle communications/outreach/advocacy activities around key conferences, seminars, and meetings related to the AfCFTA project, including press briefings/conferences, interviews etc.
- Update regularly ATPC’s website.
- Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of ECA’s policies, principles, and strategies, and keep up-to-date with relevant developments.

Qualification:
