UNHCR Job Vacancy 2021
Job Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Associate RSD Officer and the Overall Supervision of the Associate Field Officer (Protection) based in Sherkole, Assosa Operation, the staff member will undertake the following duties and responsibilities within the Assosa Operation;
Provide support in the area of refugee status determination (RSD), including the following:
- Represent UNHCR on eligibility committee (EC) panels for the adjudication of refugee claims in the Assosa operation, with a target of 2 regular RSD assessments or 5 simplified RSD assessments/notes for file on changes of legal status per week.
- Conduct counseling sessions on RSD procedures.
- Assist in the development of clear RSD SOPs, including appeal procedures with ARRA.
- Support ARRA¿s appeal hearing process.
- Assist in capacity building of ARRA and UNHCR staff in Assosa operation on RSD procedures; Including training ARRA and UNHCR staff on exclusion issue.
- Provide support in review of cases of refugees with possible credibility or exclusion issues.
- Interview refugees being considered for possible referral from protection unit to the resettlement unit whose cases raise credibility or exclusion concerns, as well as cases identified by resettlement unit or the regional support hub (Resettlement) as raising such concerns.
- Provide support to Assosa operation, by undertaking protection counselling or conducting any other protection activity assigned by the supervisor.
