How can you make a Difference: Under the overall guidance and direction of the Child Protection Specialist based at Mekelle the Child Protection Officer (GBViE), the incumbent will provide technical and management support to the Mekelle Field Office and Shire Sub Office and UNICEF-supported Implementing Partners (IP) on GBViE prevention, risk mitigation and response. This will include working closely with Child Protection (GBViE) specialists to develop, implement and manage the regional GBViE plan of action based on contextual needs assessments and emerging issues and will engage with UNICEF -led clusters, staff and partners to manage the effective implementation of the action plan. The position will ensure to strengthen local systems and capacities in alignment to UNICEF’s 2022-2025 Gender Action and Strategic Plans. The incumbent will work collaboratively with regional government and non-government partners as well as CSOs, UN agencies and the GBV AoR.

Qualification:
- University degree in one of the following fields is required: international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, social work, international law, or another relevant field.
Experience:
- A minimum of two years of progressive professional experience in social development planning and management GBV-related areas is required.
- Experience working in a conflict-affected context is an asset.
- Relevant experience in program development in GBV or related areas in a UN system agency or organization is considered an asset.
- Experience in both development and humanitarian contexts is considered an added advantage
