Role Purpose: The position holder will be responsible to support the implementation and realization of the PIE’s strategy by leading the strategic direction of the assigned regional program area in accordance with PIE’s Country Strategy, and the PA strategy, while ensuring the functionality of the regional operations. This would be demonstrated in undertaking responsibilities which includes: providing operational support to project implementation staff to ensure timely provision and effective utilization of Plan’s resources for the benefit of targeted beneficiaries in the region, strengthening and promoting effective communication between CO and program area offices on all operational support deemed necessary for efficient project delivery/implementation and liaising Plan with Regional state Bureaus and sector offices, to establish a good working relationship and influence decision makers.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Development studies, International Relations, Gender studies or similar field.
Experience:
- At least 10 years’ experience.
- Demonstrated experience in management of at least two of the thematic areas as per the Country Strategy, in both development and humanitarian context.
- Demonstrated experience in managing partnerships at different levels, from informal community structures and CBOs, to large INGOs, UN agencies and multilateral donors.
- Demonstrated experience of operational and programming processes, systems and principles, and the ability to provide leadership and support to staff working at regional and community level.
Language Required:
- Fluency in English language is essential
- In addition to Amharic, Knowledge of Local Languages is a desirable
