UNHCR Job Vacancy 2022
Job Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of the Associate Education Officer, will include:
- Provide oversight and education technical support to all education activities across the three regions of Tigary, Afar and Amhara, ensuring strategic direction for education in Ethiopia, with greater emphasis of refugees¿ integration into the host community schools and inclusion into the REB¿s education systems.
- Lead on the coordination of the ECW FER education in emergency activities in the north covering Tigray (Mai Aini and Adi Harush camps), Afar (Aysaita and Serdo camps) and Amhara (Alemwach Site), through technical guidance to the implementing partners, monitoring on progress and reporting. Ensure quality and timely implementation of ECW funded activities by the partners.
- Lead on the creation of education coordination mechanisms bringing education stakeholders together to discuss education in general in the north as well as specifically the ECW funded activities and align this with the education Cluster system in the north. Ensure that refugee education in the north is discussed in the Education Cluster meetings as well. Strengthen synergies between the ¿Refugee Education Coordination mechanism¿ and the ¿Education Cluster Coordination mechanism¿ in the north.
- Lead on representation of education issues in the north in several forums including the joint field education meetings coordinated by the Addis Education unit and provide regular updates on the education activities including the ECW funded activities.
- Lead and strengthen integration of education and other sectors such as CP, GBV, PSEA and WASH in line with the implementation of the ECW funded project.
