UNDP Job Vacancy 2023
Job Purpose: The GBViE Social Mobilization Analyst will build the capacity of implementing partners to engage communities in attitudinal and behavior change relating to GBV and gender equality. The incumbent will support and coordinate social mobilization activities across UNFPA’s GBV service facilities and areas and monitor the quality of GBViE program implementation in IDPs, returnees and host communities. Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of GBViE Programme Specialist, the incumbent facilitates the implementation of UNFPA’s GBViE Prevention programming to assist those affected by the conflict in Tigray region of Ethiopia. The GBViE Social Mobilization Analyst will support UNFPA GBViE Program interventions in Tigray. She/He will support the GBViE team to design and develop context- specific innovative and evidence-based GBV prevention programming through community engagement in line with GBV guiding principles and UNFPA Minimum Standards for Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies. Additionally, she/he will identify gaps and challenges on GBV prevention and provide information to support program improvement. She/He will provide technical support to implementing partners’ community mobilizers and other staff as well as SRH facility staff under the direct supervision of the GBViE Social Mobilization Specialist and overall guidance of the GBViE Programme Specialist. As GBV requires a multi sectored response, the GBViE Social Mobilization Officer will also be required to encourage smooth communication, collaboration and coordination among partners from the protection, livelihoods, site management, health, legal and psychosocial sectors working to end violence against women and girls.
