UNHCR Job Vacancy 2022
Overall purpose and Scope of Assignment: The International Consultant for the GBV Assessment, will work on a four-month contract with the support of a National Consultant and relevant staff in UNHCR and UNFPA to identify the risks, needs, and challenges of groups within the different population (IDPs, returnees and host communities) including, but not limited to, women and girls, people living with disabilities, the elderly, and female-headed households.S/he will provide an analysis that will describe the situation in the ground, including anexamination of the underlying social inequalities that put all women and girls at risk of violence.She/he will examine the gaps in infrastructure and access to facilities. This will include Womenand Girls Friendly Spaces, Community spaces, OSC, as well as other services and facilities determined by the projects implemented by Fund partners in the three regions (Amhara, Afar and Tigray). The resulting report will make recommendations to ensure that the structural factors affecting service access are identified and recommendations are made for compliance with standards of social and gender inclusion along with situation on GBV analysed to address the programme needs.A qualified consultant, who is experienced and familiar with GBV in humanitarian contexts, IDPcontexts, will be recruited to lead the data collection, with support of UNHCR and UNFPA and its partners and governmental authorities in the locations and develop the report.
In addition to the above, the consultant will produce the following:
- Timeline and detailed work-plan for the duration of the consultancy.
- Draft framework for the report, which will be finalised with input from relevant departments in UNHCR Representation Office in Ethiopia/RB EHAGL/DIP and UNFPA
- Brief mission reports from any missions undertaken within the Northern response.
- Inception report: Detailing the Assessment methodology including sampling procedures,
- data collection tools, data analysis plan and detailed work plan and schedule seven days after signing of contract.
