Job Description:
- Contribute to the development of workflows to harmonize data collection, including development and collation of ODK, xls and other forms.
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and compiling data, including through the development of scripts to automate retrieval from and upload of data to databases and data management systems, ensuring quality and completeness.
- Contribute to data analysis using a variety of techniques, including machine learning.
- Develop interactive dashboards and interfaces to generate near real-time overviews of data collected and to enable easy visualization, download and analysis of incoming data.
- Assist in the development and testing of decision support tools and APIs to deliver tailored agronomic recommendations.
- Develop documentation for decision support and other tools and help package them to facilitate reuse.
- Actively participate in capacity building, user-support, and needs assessment.
- Provide other support as needed.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology with experience in agriculture or other natural science; or a degree in Agricultural Sciences with strong data science experience.
- At least three years of relevant work experience in data collection, management or visualization.
- Intermediate or advanced experience in R.
- Experience with website/dashboard creation.
- Experience in designing digital data collection using software such as ODK, and experience with relational database (SQL).
- Experience in the use of collaborative tools and platforms for software development (e.g.: GitHub) and methods to maintain code integrity, documentation, and standards.
- Good communication skills and command of English.
- Excellent team player, and self-motivated and independent problem solver who excels at prioritization and multi-tasking.
