DRC Job Vacancy 2023

Overall purpose of the role: Under the supervision of the Head of Programs, the PIM and Advocacy specialist will be responsible for providing technical support for data collection by field offices and produce regular protection monitoring reports and advocacy products for a range of stakeholders, including government actors, humanitarian agencies and donors at country level.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to field staff for protection monitoring activities and ensure the highest quality of data and collected in the field.
  • Regularly review and update data collection tools to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Review and analyze protection data and provide feedback to field staff.
  • Carry out secondary data analysis and identify sources of data and information to complement the data collected by field offices.
  • Produce monitoring reports outlining protection concerns, multi-sector needs, and recommendations and present on findings, recommendations, and advocacy points to DRC senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and country and field level for the dissemination of protection monitoring reports in line with DRC´s protection and country strategy.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in social science, Law or humanitarian aid.
  • Experience and knowledge in GBV and Child Protection programming.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the humanitarian sector related with an NGO/United Nations or civil society organization.
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Experience in using research methodologies and data collection tools.
  • Excellent drafting skills in English and experience in report writing different audiences.
  • Experience in developing advocacy plans and conducting advocacy activities with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in the production of technical material (training material, tools, reports, documents, etc.).
  • Good networking skills.
