DRC Job Vacancy 2023
Overall purpose of the role:
- Manage all aspects of the DRC Safety Risk Management (SRM) system for DRC programmes within geographical area of responsibility.
- Overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of safety and liaison within geographical area of responsibility.
- Direct manager for safety and liaison staff.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the safety and liaison team (including people planning, performance, well-being and development).
- Staff capacity building.
- Undertake the Safety Risk Management (SRM) process.
- Advice on compliance requirements in line with the Global Safety Policy.
- Develop area and country safety management policies, protocols and procedures.
Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of working experience as a safety and security manager/adviser with an INGO
- At least 4 years’ experience with people management
- Proven leadership skills and a competence in people management
- Master’s degree (e.g. in political science, peace & conflict studies, history, or disaster management) or a military education
- Experience working in multicultural work settings
- Experience working with national partners, local/government authorities, and UN organisations.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
