IRC Job Vacancy 2021
Job Purpose: The purpose of this internship is to provide an opportunity for a qualified and motivated graduate to learn more about child protection in the humanitarian sector, whilst contributing to the work of the IRC’s child protection team. The intern will work closely with the Senior Child Protection Case Management Specialist on a capacity building project to develop an updated and expanded inter-agency training package for child protection caseworkers in humanitarian settings. They will work with the wider Child Protection team at HQ-level on knowledge management, specific Child Protection technical themes and depending on profile, the intern’s role may include producing communication and advocacy materials, such as factsheets and case studies.

Qualification:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant Social Science (e.g. Social Work, Child Studies, Child Protection, Education etc.) or Huma Rights Law (focus on Child Rights).
- Demonstrable knowledge of child rights and child protection.
- Demonstrable knowledge of adult learning methodologies.
- Able to work independently and know when and how to coordinate with colleagues.
- Strong inter-personal skills including feedback, cross-cultural communication, and teamwork.
- Additional language skills, especially Arabic, French, and Spanish.
Experience
- Volunteer or Work experience with children, youth, and/or vulnerable persons desirable.
- Volunteer or work experience with a charity or NGO is essential, and in the international development or humanitarian sector is desirable.
- Designing and developing capacity building initiatives, including training desirable.
- Desirable: Information management and knowledge management (e.g. updating and maintaining websites, producing communications materials etc).
