ITU Job Vacancy 2021
Duties / Responsibilities: The ITU has begun an exciting new partnership with the Digital Access Programme (DAP) of the Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO), which will see implementation of a diversity of connectivity and digital skills programmes in the five DAP countries, including Kenya, Nigeria, Indonesia, Brazil and South Africa. This expansion of activities will allow the ITU to work with new partners, implementing innovative connectivity projects. The partnership with DAP will also strengthen the ITU-ILO collaboration on digital skills in Africa.

Qualification:
- Advanced university degree in business administration, international development, social science, engineering, programme/project management, information technology, or any relevant area of study to support knowledge in programme/project management or a related field OR education from a reputed college of advanced education with a diploma of equivalent standard to that of an advanced university degree in one of the fields above. For internal candidates, a first university degree in one of the fields above in combination with seven years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree for promotion or rotation purposes.
Experience
- At least five years of progressively responsible experience in managing projects/programmes in the context of international development, including at least two at the international level. A Doctorate in a related field can be considered as a substitute for two years of working experience. Experience in the implementation of training and/or capacity development projects or activities in the field of digital development.
Languages:
- For this advertised position, knowledge of English (drafting and speaking) at advanced level is essential. Knowledge of French and Spanish at intermediate level would be an advantage. Knowledge of a third language (Arabic, Chinese and Russia) would be an advantage. (Under the provision of Resolution No. 626 of the Council, a relaxation of the language requirements may be authorized in the case of candidates from developing countries: when candidates from such countries possess a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the Union, their applications may be taken into consideration.)
