Job Position: The People Operations Advisor is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to teams mobilizing to respond to emergencies and critical events.The breadth of support this role provides is broad, from helping to ensure timely recruitments, advising on deployment and employment modalities in new locations, providing support on organizational design for teams undergoing rapid transition and recommending appropriate duty of care and staff care approaches. When not engaged in support of an active emergency response, the People Operations Advisor will consolidate lessons learned in order to develop and refine processes, policies and standard operating procedures to help continually improve Mercy Corps capacity to respond efficiently and effectively during response scenarios. Success in the role depends on identifying needed activities and actioning on them independently, the ability to understand how to balance immediate action with necessary rigor, quickly implement lessons learned into existing processes and procedures, effectively liaise between teams to achieve quick results and being willing to jump in to support the various administrative processes required in an effective emergency response.

Qualification:
- Bachelor Degree.
Experience:
- 5 or more years experience in international human resources, with at least 3 in business partner/ advisory capacity.
- 3 or more years of experience within the humanitarian and international development sector. Experience at the country/ program level is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with emergency or critical incident response in the humanitarian and international development sector, including familiarity with Sphere and Core Humanitarian standards.
