MSF Job Vacancy 2021
Position within the Organization: The Operations Manager reports to the Director of Operations. In this position you line manage an Operations Advisor and an Operations Officer, as well as a group of Country Directors (Heads of Missions). You will also coordinate the members of the operations support team (Typically Health Advisor, Logistics Advisor, HR Advisor, Field Finance Advisor, Communication and Advocacy Advisor for the portfolio and other functional advisors) in close collaboration with the Operations Advisor.

Qualification & Experience:
- (Required) has at least 5 years of field experience in (medical) emergency aid in complex humanitarian contexts with MSF (or a comparable organisation)
- (Required) and at least 3 years in a relevant management position;
- has strong proven skills in management and leadership and who can act as a coach and inspire staff;
- is capable of directing people of various disciplines and cultural backgrounds over time and distance;
- has gained experience with a range of issues and responsibilities within the respective organisation, such as security management, policy formulation, financial and human resource management;
- takes initiative and decisions and comes up with a vision based on his/her own judgment;
- is capable of conceptual and analytical thinking, who is result oriented and has proven skills to translate concepts into practice;
- Has good communication skills, including media and presentation skills (are essential), as well as an excellent command of English. Command of one or more of French, Swahili, or Arabic languages an advantage.
- a medical profile is welcome, but not a necessity;
- is willing to work long and irregular hours and travel (approximately 30%) at short notice.
