UN Habitat Job Vacancy 2022
Job Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Manager, and support of the PSUP team in Nairobi, the consultant shall work on a part -time basis and will be responsible for the following duties:
- Produce reports of meetings of the technical unit (every 2 weeks)
- Create a list of technical unit members as well as their responsibilities
- Establish a technical unit office
- Develop a work plan for the different thematic teams within the technical unit detailed and validated by the Country Team
- Prepare a concept note for the engagement of partners for the implementation of Community Managed Funds (MUCODEC)
- Prepare a concept note for the commitment of partners for the mobilization of the community NGO’s
- Populate a terms of reference for the engagement of consultancy firms for the definition of specifications for the implementation of priority projects
- Presentation of the programme to relevant stakeholders for the slum upgrading in Pointe Noire
- Organization of a PSUP national experience exchange workshop.

Qualification:
- A master’s degree in urban studies or a graduate degree in a related field (project management, urban governance, inter-institutional coordination, etc.) is required. A bachelor’s degree with an additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the master’s degree.
Experience:
- Proven working experience of at least 5 years in urban development in Pointe Noire and/or Republic of Congo is required.
- Knowledge of governmental institutions and actors and other relevant partners for slum upgrading in Pointe Noire and/or Republic of Congo is required.
- Experience in project management (preferably in the fields of urban development or governance is desirable.
- Previous work experience or knowledge of the work of UN-Habitat and PSUP in Republic of Congo will be considered an added value.
- He/she must also have good oral and written skills in French.
- Ability to prioritize activities and assignments is an asset.
