It is a member of the United Nations Development Group. The mandate of UN-Habitat derives from the Habitat Agenda, adopted by the United Nations Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat II) in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1996.

Specific Duties:

  • Proactively develop new communications content related to the PFES’ programmes that focus on weaving together multiple projects and take a forward-facing position.
  • Track all communications outputs produced by stakeholders of the different programmes to identify synergies and opportunities for developing rich collaterals.
  • Further develop guidance that supports colleagues to gather and generate human-interest stories.
  • Personally conduct interviews and develop human-interest stories, where possible.
  • Support the compilation of a library of photos, videos, and stories.
  • Support the development of key messages.
  • Adhere to UN-Habitat communications guidelines.
  • Seek approval from relevant stakeholders prior to publication.
  • Where required, support or manage the design and publication process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
