UN-Habitat maintains its headquarters at the United Nations Office at Nairobi, Kenya. It is a member of the United Nations Development Group. The mandate of UN-Habitat derives from the Habitat Agenda, adopted by the United Nations Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat II) in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1996.

Job Responsibilities: The consultant will support the Programme Manager within the Land Housing and Shelter section with the following responsibilities.
- To review the current working documents and methodologies utilized for the drafting of City Migration Profiles and produce a revised methodological document that extracts best practices and guidance for future implementation.
- To review the current working documents and methodologies utilized for the drafting of City Priority Papers and produce a revised methodological document that extracts best practices and guidance for future implementation.
- To review the current working documents and methodologies utilized for the mapping and engagement of the City Stakeholders Group and produce a revised methodological document that extracts best practices and guidance for future implementation.
- To review the current working documents and methodologies utilized for the creation of Targeted City Actions and produce a revised methodological document that extracts best practices and guidance for future implementation.
- To conduct online stakeholder interviews and include findings and recommendations from the local experts drafting such products for MC2CM phase 2.
- To conduct online stakeholders’ interviews with UN-Habitat country offices and their partners implementing the Targeted City Actions.
- Conduct additional desk research and collect knowledge management best practices that can be included in the revised methodologies.

Qualification:
- Advanced university degree in social sciences or related fields (including political science, sociology, anthropology, global or migration studies, local governance, urban management, public policy is required. A first level degree with an additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, including empirical research experience and qualitative data analysis is required.
- Demonstrated level experience on consultancies in this area is an advantage.
