UN-Habitat maintains its headquarters at the United Nations Office at Nairobi, Kenya. It is a member of the United Nations Development Group. The mandate of UN-Habitat derives from the Habitat Agenda, adopted by the United Nations Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat II) in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1996.

UN Habitat Job Vacancy 2022
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gather, collate and analyze additional data from the technical focal points from the relevant UN partners who in turn liaise with government on urbanization, human settlements, housing, slum upgrading, construction project management, building on the existing concept note and existing data.
- Utilize the information derived from the data collected to coordinate the preparation of a Zero Draft submission document to EU. The Zero Draft submission document should focus on 2 areas areas namely: a) slum upgrading through digital platforms for community funding and investments; and b) affordable green housing through community and home owner-led supply chains.
- The submission document to include – Description of Action/Proposal, outcomes, theory of change, Budget, Workplan, Results Framework, monitoring, Communication and Visibility Plan, etc.
- Coordinate the development of a budget proposal for the implementation of the joint proposal with inputs from respective technical specialists.
- Develop the logical framework, the theory of change and selected indicators to measure progress and changes resulting from the implementation of the joint program.
- Propose a programme management governance and accountability framework to the implementation of the joint program (among UN agencies, between UN Agencies and GoK).
- Align the Zero Draft to government priorities including policies, plans and strategies as well as the EU strategic priorities
- specifically, the EU Green Deal, as well as the UNDAF & UN-Agencies’ specific regional and country programmes and the SDGs.
- Subject the Zero Draft submission document to inputs from relevant stakeholders including UN agencies, line government ministries, EU and the Council of Governors to ensure inputs from stakeholders are integrated into the Zero Draft.
- Prepare a subsequent final draft and submit for joint review.
