Tasks and Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the Publication Coordinator of the Participatory Slum and Upgrading Programme (PSUP), the Text Reviewer (Consultant) will be responsible for the following duties:
- Correct grammar, syntax and punctuation; accuracy and consistency in spelling, capitalization and abbreviation/acronyms;
- Correct terminology, policies and framework names;
- Correct and consistent use of footnotes, endnotes, references and other bibliographic entries;
- Accuracy of all URLs included in the text;
- Readability and consistent of logic and flow;
- Clear and concise titles, headings and subheadings;
- Import text into desktop software and complete formatting of text, tabular matter, front matter and back matter.
- Review designed pages against backup files of final copy-edited text and checking corrections.
- Complete cross-references within text and footnotes;
- Read amended proofs against previous proofs and incorporate additional editorial alternations as required;
- check pagination, sales number, taglines and correlation of table of contents with listed items in text.

Qualification:
- A first-level degree from a university or institution of equivalent status is a requirment. High school diploma or equivalent with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree.
Experience:
- 5 years of experience in desktop publishing, including draft typing, copy editing, proof-reading and typographical layout or related area is a requirement; Knowledge of editorial practices and desktop publishing, including typographic standards is desirable.
