Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide facilitation and documentation support for the study tour for GWP National Projects to be hosted in East Africa;
  • Provide facilitation, partner coaching and documentation support for the Lessons Learned Action-Learning Process including creation of final documentations for publication.
  • Support the development and finalization of a detailed agenda for the 4-day study tour in consultation with the UNDP-GEF-USAID Project management team and the World Bank GWP team;
  • Provide support to the UNDP-GEF-USAID Project management team for facilitation of sessions and development/distribution of materials prior, during and after the study tour to GWP national project teams and UNDP-GEF-USAID project partners;
  • Provide support to the UNDP-GEF-USAID Project management team to take minutes of all sessions and prepare the study tour report summarizing sessions and key takeaways.
  • Provide support to the TOR Building capacity for lesson-learning in GWP projects by piloting an action-learning exercise on counter-IWT initiatives Consultant to assist in process design; workshop facilitation and in capturing and documenting project processes and participants’ learning for input into the final project learnings document (from the Action-Learning process detailed in TOR XX: Building capacity for lesson-learning in GWP projects by piloting an action-learning exercise on counter-IWT initiatives). Responsibilities may include:
  • Collaboration on workshop designs, which include 5 virtual 3-4-hour workshops as well as one workshop day during the in-person study tour;
  • Attendance at workshops for support with facilitation and write-ups;
  • Liaison with project participants.
  • Providing support and guidance to project teams on collation and interpretation of inputs, including development of the outline/template;
  • Providing support and guidance to project teams on writing up of process undertaken;
  • Providing support and guidance to project teams on writing up key lessons-learned as identified in partner workshops and surveys.
  • Final editing of document and presentation ready for publication.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in communication, social science, business administration, logistics, project management, international development, environmental or other relevant fields.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of confirmed and successful experience in facilitation, documentation and management of multi-stakeholder events;
  • At least 5 years of work experience with multiple stakeholders, including governments, NGOs, and private sector working on environmental issues;
  • Proven experience in action-learning processes, coaching teams and writing lessons learned reports;
  • Excellent writing skills: at least 3 years of writing published documents for a program management design and/or policy audience (please attach or provide links to at least 2 samples of previous work in your application);
  • Experience in leading structured interviews on lessons learning;
  • Previous work experience in Africa in desirable;
  • Good skills in standard software packages (MS Office, Zoom, Skype).
