UNEP Job Vacancy 2023

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the overall supervision of the Chief, Biodiversity, People and Landscapes Unit in the Ecosystems Division and of the GRASP coordinator, the consultant will undertake the following tasks:

  • Conduct in-depth structured interviews with 5-10 key stakeholders (to be identified in collaboration with the GRASP Secretariat) on issues covered by the survey
  • Compile results of the survey in a summary report.
  • Conduct consultations on additional items GRASP’s mandate should tackle.
  • Produce first draft of the Review with recommendations and present at GRASP Executive Committee meeting.
  • Draft review to be available in both English and French versions (with support from Secretariat for translation).
  • Contribute to the development of the GRASP Council agenda and present the findings at the GRASP Council meeting scheduled for Q4 2023 and make further amendments based on any discussions there.
  • Submit final version of the Review.

Qualification & Experience:

  • A University degree in human science, social science and natural science or a related subject is required.
  • At least 20 years of progressively responsible experience in natural resource management and biodiversity conservation is required.
  • Programme/project management and evaluation experience in the wildlife conservation is an advantage.
