Duties and Responsibilities: The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the United Nations system’s designated entity for addressing environmental issues at the global, regional, and national levels. For countries to be able to achieve the ambitious results of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, transformational changes in the way national institutions make decisions, devise policies, legislate and report on sustainable development issues are needed. Access to accurate information and knowledge, cross-sectoral collaboration, and coordination both within and across institutions, as well as more inclusive mechanisms are necessary.

Qualification:
- A Bachelor of Science (BSc) in environment, or natural resource management, or planning or a related field is required. Supplementary training in international environmental and sustainable development provisions is desirable.
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in conducting similar studies, strategic and operational planning or capacity building is required
- A very good knowledge of the integrated approach with a very good command of the integration of the environmental dimension into policies and strategies is required.
- Strong expertise in the fields of planning and sustainable management of natural resources is desirable.
