UNEP Job Vacancy 2022
Duties and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Head, National Environmental Law Unit (NLU) of the Law Division or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the consultant will undertake the following activities:
- Review the draft guidance documents developed by other project partners that aim at raising awareness and educating producers and users (including but not limited to permit holders for the distribution and the marketing) of the alternatives to DDT and provide input from a legal perspective;
- Contribute from a legal angle to the development of Integrated Vector Pest Management (IVPM) training modules led by the Central Pollution Control Board of India;
- Participate as a trainer in IVPM for the duration of the contract;
- Engage in consultations with UNEP, UNIDO, the Government of India and other relevant partners to present his/her work, discuss the progress of the project activities and provide recommendations for the next steps;
- Support other project-related activities, such as the development of communication materials (videos, human interest articles, etc), by providing inputs in relation to the outputs delivered under Component.

Qualification:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in environmental law required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience in environmental law may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience:
- At least ten years of experience in Indian law with a focus on environmental law, including analyzing legislation and designing recommendations. Working experience with international organizations, including those in the United Nations system, or with academic institutions in the context of research and analysis, in particular in legal analysis, and expertise in independent research and review, are an advantage.
