UNICEF Job Vacancy 2021
Scope of Work:
- Implement strategic partnerships with Standard Group and Nation Media Groupto help promote priority issues – including COVID-19, ending violence, rural sanitation and youth skills/voice – for children in a sustained way. Conduct child rights reporting training for journalists from partner media houses. Negotiatea new partnership with Royal Media.
- Support the WASH section in developing and implementing a visibility plan for the Kenya Sanitation Alliance, including developing media and human interest stories about WASH in rural counties covered by the Alliance, coordinate video and social media production. Lead media visits to produce content for print, TV or radio. Develop visibility content for WASH projects supported by the Governments of Sweden and Japan.
- Support the Child Protection section in implementing a media plan for the Spot it, Stop it campaign, including on the issue of FGM. Develop media and human interest stories about FGM and ending violence against children, coordinate video and social media production. Lead media visits to produce content for print, TV or radio.
- Support the Health and C4D sections in raising awareness of COVID-19 behaviour change through the media, including combatting rumours, misinformation and vaccine hesitancy. Support the Ministry of Health with media outreach and invitations to COVID-related events.
- Write press releases, fact sheets and other media materials for UNICEF events, reports launches and other media moments. Visit projects, in connect remotely with partners, to collect human interest stories on priority children’s issues. Mobilise media to attendlaunch events and press conferences. Prepare and send a weekly internal news update by email.
- Conduct training for UNICEF staff on handling media interviews. Organise interviews for the Representative, UNICEF staff and youth advocates. Organise media cafés as needed, to highlight current issues of importance to UNICEF.

Qualification:
