UNICEF Job Vacancy 2022
Job Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the nutrition team on CMAM program and CMAM scale up micro-plan finalization and recommendation on faster scale up with quality. Review available data and make recommendation on quality improvement in the UNICEF’s CMAM response that can also be considered for scale up.
- Support the TFCs /SCs on the routine treatment of a child with SAM with medical complications.
- Support team on understanding the therapeutic milk improvements, planning for transition and building capacity to lead the transition.
- Support IYCF program scale up through strengthening of the existing IYCF MSGs and its need-based scale-up.
- Support efforts to improve the quality of counselling at the community level.
- Support the Community-based program with special focus on the scaling up of the training and deployment of CHVs, especially in the high priority counties
- Make field visits (subject to security clearances) to monitor the quality of services being delivered at the TFCs /SCs and OTPs.
- Identify capacity building needs in the field, and support the Nutrition team in efforts to design resilience and early recovery interventions in the affected counties.
- Review and facilitate partnerships at national and regional level with WHO, WFP, the ministry of health and the NGOs about UNICEF- supported nutrition activities, including UNICEF Emergency response plan, rapid nutrition assessments (when needed), Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition IMAM) Programme.
- Work with emergency specialists assigned to the KCO Drought Response Hub to ensure the Nutrition programme is fully aligned to the office integrated approach to the drought response.
- Contribute to timely preparation and submission of quality programme reports and emergency related documents.
- Coordinate and contribute to review of program reports and emergency documents with nutrition team and partners to inform programme improvement.
- Coordinate, in collaboration with MoH, effective management and distribution of nutrition supplies ensuring steady supply pipeline and no stock outs in facilities.
- Any other work assigned by the Supervisor.
