UNODC Job Vacancy 2021
Duties and Responsibilities: Under direct supervision of the Head of Transnational Organized Crime, Illicit Trafficking and Terrorism Programmes (Programme Management Officer) and in close consultation with the Communication Support Officer, the Consultant will perform the following tasks aimed at supporting the Transnational Organized Crime, Illicit Trafficking and Terrorism Programmes, including the Better Migration Management Programme, Criminal Investigation Programme for Somalia, Supporting Transformation, Peace and Security in the Horn of Africa, Enhancing Effective Criminal Justice Responses to Trafficking in Persons in Eastern Africa and Supporting the EAPCCO Regional Counter-Terrorism Centre of Excellence:
- In liaison with the Communication Support Officer and programme managers, explore and propose original story-telling opportunities incl. animation to enhance the visibility of the regional Transnational Organized Crime, Illicit Trafficking and Terrorism Programmes and its projects (TOC/CT);
- Coordinate the production of a series of short-form videos/reels for Social Media use for each of the TOC/CT projects;
- Occasional travel to the field to capture workshops/project activities to be turned into video-content
- Ensure accurary, clarity, cohesion and conformity with United Nations standards, policies and practice incl. adequate visibility of relevant stakeholders and partners
- Ensure that all products, documents, materials and events give appropriate visibility to respective donors, including the correct application of its logos, acknowledgement statement and standard disclaimers;
Qualification:
- Advanced university degree in videography, visual and digital storytelling or related discipline is required; A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of work experience as a videographer, preferably of which at least 1 year is in an international development context is required
- Demonstrated experience with videography (Portfolio) is required
- Experience in supporting rule of law, criminal justice or peace and security sector support programmes is desirable
Language:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations Secretariat language is an advantage
