UNON Job Vacancy 2023

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess learners progress: design or select appropriate methods to assess learners progress; conduct test and interviews; coordinate and mark placement tests and progress assessments (oral and written); provide feedback to learners of their progress and ways to develop their linguistic skills; use technology/software and apply recognized standards to assess spoken and written proficiency. Submit student assessment reports at the end of the term.
  • Support the conduction of evaluations: Seek general feedback/comments/recommendations from the participants; provide a short debrief/report to the Language Coordinator at the end of the language term on lessons learned, participant feedback, areas for improvement; evaluate materials effectively from practical and theoretical perspectives; provide feedback on the effectiveness and efficiency of the language programme;
  • Prepare the learning environment: prepare and test all support devices (computer/laptop, projector, video, presentation, flip chart, white/smart board, video player, blog, chat, social media, online homework/group work, online community, handout and other materials needed for the course).
  • Assist in other activities as required, including but not limited to harmonization of the language teaching across duty stations, organisation of special events etc.

Qualification & Experience:

  • First level First level University degree in languages, linguistics OR related field or degree in a language related field is required.
  • A minimum of seven years of documented teaching experience is required. Must have taught at all levels, developed examination and specialized courses.
  • Experience in using collaboration technology and a tool to support delivery of linguistic training is an asset as well
  • as experience in teaching through the use of various learning methodologies, here-under face-to-face, distance
  • learning and online learning is desired.
  • Experience with managing Online Learning Platforms/Learning Management Systems such as Moodle/Schoology is desirable.

Languages:

Fluency in oral and written English as well as the language to be taught is required. Native language speaker is desired
