WHO Job Vacancy 2023
Purpose of The Position: In the context of the WHO Health Emergencies Preparedness and Response (EPR), at regional and hub level, the Customs & Logistics Officer will support and conduct the operations of the customs clearance and forwarding of inbound and outbound health and non-health commodities up to the final distribution point, ensuring an end-to-end follow-up, and guaranteeing an effective and efficient delivery process at the incident site level.
Description of Duties:
- Ensure incoming shipments are recorded and numbered in the tracking system and provide shipment status reports on a timely basis.
- Ensure the update of the General Inventory Management System (GIMS)
- Liaise with national authorities to obtain Green Light for incoming shipment, if required.
- Liaise with customs clearance agent, MOH, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Customs to ensure timely tax exemption approvals.
- Monitor the freight forwarding company movement for incoming shipments.
Qualification:
Essential:
- First degree in Pharmacy.
Desirable:
- A Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, pharmacy, public health Administration, or a related field relevant to the position.
- SCOR-P certification or equivalent.
Experience:
Essential:
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Medical end-to-end Supply Chain Management.
Desirable:
- Experience in providing Logistics support during health emergency responses and disease outbreaks.
- Experience working with health cluster partners and relevant non-governmental or humanitarian organizations.
