FAO Job Vacancy 2022

Organizational Setting: The Resilience and Emergency Programme Specialist, in coordination with the Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) Team, will closely work with the FAO Uganda program team and Service Providers in ensuring that progress towards development results are systematically monitored, documented and analyzed to support decision-making, accountability, learning and adjustments in strategies and approaches. S/he will work in coordination with the FSL Team to ensure that the reporting and mapping of activities across all of FAO’s emergency interventions, inclusive of displacement, food security, livelihoods protection and recovery, are carried out on an efficient and timely manner. Furthermore, s/he will liaise with FAO emergency partners to ensure quarterly activity reporting in the refugee response and for the national Food Security, Livelihoods and Nutrition (FSLN) Technical Working Group as part of FAO’s co-chair role in the multi-hazard coordination structure.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Requirements:

  • University degree in a subject related to the work of the Organization. Advanced degree is an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in working on humanitarian and/or development programming
  • Working knowledge of English.
  • National of Uganda

Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions, is desirable;

  • Work experience in the areas of advocacy and communication is considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of UN or standard operational rules and procedures and project/programme administrative management procedures is considered an asset;
  • Ability to work independently, under time pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Thoroughness and reliability, sense of diplomacy and tact.
