Responsibilities & Deliverables:
People Strategy (20%)
- Develop and monitor overall Human Resource strategies, systems, and tactics to respond to projects needs while aligning with regional and global People Strategies and objectives.
- Strive to achieve global, regional, and country People Objectives relevant to the country.
Recruitment Talent Acquisition (20%)
- Work with country director and other stakeholders to assess talent needs for all Heifer Projects being implemented in Uganda.
- Manage full cycle including posting, interviews, checking references, background screening, contracting, and onboarding while staying in compliance with Recruitment Policy and SOP.
- Manage Recruitment process documentation and recruitment database and reporting.
Employee Engagement and Relations (20%)
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management processes and guidelines.
- Maintain high-quality Human Resource records and systems. Keep local and global Human Resources Information System (HRIS) up to date.
- Produce timely and high-quality reports on significant personnel changes, department objectives, and global KPIs. Keep secure human resource records and maintain confidentiality.
- Help the Regional Human Resource representative to complete timely internal Human Resource Audits.
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
- Work closely with the Regional Human Resource team to facilitate Diversity Inclusion initiatives.
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
Qualification Details
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or a related field. Continued Human Resource education/certification is a significant plus.
- Proven 8-10 years’ experience, 5 of which will be in managing Human Resource functions in a dynamic organization.
Preferred Requirements
- Previous experience with an International NGO is highly valued.
- Comfortable learning new technologies and Human Resources systems. Previous experience with Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Experience in implementing strategy, meeting objectives, and working within a matrix structure.
- Excellent influence skills, team management, active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- In-depth knowledge of Uganda Labor Law.
- CIPD, SHRP and any other local relevant certification.
