Save the Children Job Vacancy 2021

Job Purpose: The Project Officer will bring organizational, interpersonal facilitation skills to the task of working with the project coordinator in the implementation of the ‘Supporting Effective Humanitarian Partnerships’ project phase II; among a diverse set of stakeholders. This role will involve supporting 40 humanitarian National NGOs and facilitating them through organizational capacity assessment to identify’ learning needs, develop competency framework and facilitate online/off-line learning to improve performance. Support MEAL and entire project management cycle.

Project Implementation :

  • Support in organizing and implementation of project workshops.
  • Participate in planning and budgeting.
  • Support the roll out of OCLA, Competency Framework and e-learning pathway.
  • Participate in follow-up and maintaining accurate progress monitoring according to the work plan.
  • Participation in Save the Children budget review meetings on a monthly basis.
  • Perform any Logistics role as desired and appropriately requested ahead of time.
  • Promote and connect local actors to online learning systems and platforms.
  • In liaison with the NGO Forum ensure there is close collaborations and coordination with the NNGO’s supported.
  • Contribute to global learning, both by sharing and receiving lessons with other agencies and participate in Internal and external reporting.
  • Participate in development of communication products where possible, e.g. case studies, online blogs, videos.

Project Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning :

  • Supports the monitoring and evaluation of project outcomes and impact.
  • Support the planning of research initiatives and associated learning events (both nationally and regionally).

Project Representation :

  • Present the project to influential stakeholders to generate support for the initiative.
  • Providing briefings and status updates when required to participating organisations, local and international organ isations and government agencies.

Qualification:

  • Essential: Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience At least 3 years’ experience working in coordination of humanitarian response projects in South Sudan, preferably with a mix of local and international organisations Experience related to local capacity strengthening, adult learning, and/or organizational dynamics Experience working with partners and varied humanitarian stakeholders Familiarity with and commitment to humanitarian principles, the Core Humanitarian Standard, and the Grand Bargain Understanding of the desired and actual roles of national and international actors in humanitarian response, and the power dynamics at play in those relations.
  • Desirable: Additional project management experience..
