UNMISS Job Vacancy 2023

Org. Setting and Reporting: This position is located in the Warehouse and Commodity Management Section of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), Juba. Juba is classified in the “E” category and as a non-family duty station. The incumbent will report to the Chief, Warehouse and Commodity Management Section under the overall guidance of the Chief, Supply Chain Management Service.

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, supply chain management, food science or related field. A first level university degree in combination of professional certification with two additional years of qualifying experience in project/contract management or related areas may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in food rations operations, supply services, administration, logistics, or a closely related area including at least two years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Experience in the procurement/administration/management of large-scale goods and/or services contracts is required.
  • Experience in managing support services in a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization is desirable
  • Experience in food safety, HACCP principles and/or ISO-22000 is desirable.
  • Experience in SAP or similar ERP software in managing food and or rations requisitions and inventory is desirable.

Languages:

  • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
