FHI 360 Job Vacancy 2022
Basic Function: The Senior Technical Advisor Database Management, GIS, & Data Visualization will oversee the administration and management of FHI 360’s management information system for routine data. This involves overseeing adherence to the reporting cycle, developing and implementing data security and confidentiality policies, designing and developing database applications, developing and assisting in the analysis of data, providing technical documentation of data and quality assurance of data inputs and outputs, assisting with the presentation of data findings for projects, and providing technical support in the use of these data in research projects.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Determination of power and sample size requirements for studies – Cleaning, merging, and preparing analytic datasets. Ensure that the quality of program/project monitoring and evaluation in the sites is of international standard by supporting the development and implementation of appropriate mechanisms and tools to ensure quality. Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
- Produce high-quality analysis products on a regular basis for monitoring and evaluation of COVID-19 vaccination and strengthening health information systems for effective surveillance.
- Ensure the correct monitoring and implementation of the organizational M&E plan and strategies and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) through appropriate mechanisms that focus on the quality of public health interventions implemented by the organization.
- Develop data collection tools to capture and track the contribution of health facilities within the project towards the meeting of project targets and to better showcase achievements.
- Lead data quality processes, deep-dive analytical models, and develop data visualization models and forecasting to inform program strategies.
- Routinely follow up with State teams for monthly data collection and reporting, coordinating gap and outlier analysis to ensure and improve on the quality of reporting.
Qualification & Experience:
- BS/BA degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or its recognized equivalent with 7 – 9 years post national youth service relevant experience.
- Or MS/MA Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or its recognized equivalent, and 5 – 7 years post national youth service relevant experience.
- Strong background in geospatial and health information systems (GIS) and/or database management is required.
- Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is an advantage
- Experience using statistical computer languages such as SQL to manipulate data, query databases, and draw insights from large data sets.
- Experience working with and creating data architectures.
- Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.
