WHO Job Vacancy 2023

Objectives of the position: The objective of the post is to operate WHO data management and M&E activities and provide evidence driven guidance for actions aimed at supporting the Country to:

  • Improve immunization data quality and ensure availability of quality, timely, and complete information that guides the health sector planning and decision making.
  • Provide evidence through the timely utilization of different data available and guide implementation of health programs including emergence response.

The terms of reference (TORs) are as follows:

  • Working with Ministry of Health and other partners, support enhancement of data collection, transmission, analysis, triangulation, compilation of health information, ensuring reliability and accuracy to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Verify data quality (completeness, timeliness), identify gaps in health information management, recommend and coordinate implementation of corrective actions as well as the data strengthening activities
  • Aggregate and maintain information from technical teams, field offices and partners including contact lists, event specific information (what, where, who, how many, how quickly, current status), health indicator data, health situation data, health response data, etc.
  • Conduct analysis of data that may include development of automated processes for routine data analysis while developing dashboards for monitoring of vaccination coverage, vaccine stock, surveillance performance indicators, reporting, emergency preparedness and response and primary child health data management needs etc.

Qualification:

  • First University Degree in health information or data management, computer sciences, statistics, applied math or public health, complemented by training in databases development and/or management from an accredited/recognized institute.

Experience:

  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience in data and/or information management, including experience in emergency operations or humanitarian context.
  • Working knowledge of online data collection applications, statistical analysis packages (Stata, SPSS, etc.) and data visualization and creating dashboards
