GIZ Job Vacancy 2022

Your tasks:

• Support of the project management in the implementation of all measures at the project site Jos
• Coordination of project activities for the sustainable training of voluntary mediators from civil society in the fragile project area and coordination of project activities in the field of trauma work and reparation
• Planning, coordination and implementation of interventions in action area 1 in close consultation with the project teams in Abuja and Jos
• Accompaniment of mediation processes; Development of a pilot conflict early warning system with relevant civil society actors and implementation partners; Monitoring the implementation of agreed organizational development measures at the partner organization; Development of decentralized pilot structures of the partner organization
• Support in the further development of effective, commercial and administrative processes at the project location Jos: e.g. monitoring of the processing of compliant, commercial processes, especially in the areas of financial management and procurement, in compliance with the processes and rules of GIZ
• Knowledge transfer to national project staff in the project office Jos / Plateau State as well as follow-up of internal controls and audits
• Support in coordinating the deployment of international experts and local contractors
• Reporting and creation of texts, presentations, facts and supplies for the client and internal project management in close consultation with the project management
• Public relations work, knowledge management, creation of work materials and event management

Qualification & Experience:

• Completed master’s degree in the field of peace and conflict research / peace and conflict or political science or development cooperation or international relations
• Several years of relevant professional experience, preferably gained abroad, and a solid understanding of transitional aid – specific topics and approaches of practice-oriented conflict resolution and strengthening of resilience
• Project experience in development cooperation, in humanitarian projects or in transitional aid
• Professional experience in the field of conflict transformation in a fragile context
• Knowledge of commercial processes in the context of GIZ projects or international organizations working in the field of international cooperation or development cooperation or humanitarian aid
• Excellent organizational and coordination skills as well as the ability to work in a structured and independent manner and to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics and environments
• Excellent writing and communication skills, high intercultural competence, a strong tolerance for frustration
• Reliability, ability to work in a team, enjoyment of working and challenges as well as a positive attitude
• Business fluent English skills
