Plan International Job Vacancy 2021
Job Purpose: The ASPIRE project is a 5-year project funded with support from Global Affairs Canada and focused on improving sexual rights and reproductive health of adolescent girls and boys in Bauchi and Sokoto state. The Safety and Security coordinator will be responsible for the assessments, security related guidance and enforce implementation of security policies, guidelines and procedures for the Development Response Program with the support of the Safety and Security Manager.
Accountabilities:
- Regular attendance at relevant security meetings and forums for the North Central and West.
- Report on security incidents/threats to Security Manager be on a regular basis (including analysis of trends) and focal persons at the deep field level
- Effective networking with the military in different deep field locations
- Managing and maintaining effective use of security communication equipment in to support colleagues deployed to deep field locations across Bauchi state
- Performing location assessment in for Plan International in Bauchi state
- Managing and facilitating staff/partners’ movements in Bauchi and to other states in the North Central
- Supporting visitors with post arrival briefing
- Working closely with Field Office Manager and community mobilization officer to drive acceptance of Plan International programme activities in Bauchi state
- Providing pre-alert to Security Manager on prospective security issues
- Ensure general staff safety and security in Bauchi state
- Deploy step down training under the guidance of the Security Manager
- Gathering vital information and intelligence for Security Manager’s use
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or any related field
- At least 3-5 years’ security, health and safety management or similar capacity.
- Good understanding of national security related issues and their relations to Plan international context
- Experience in conducting participatory risk assessment and preparing situational analysis including the analysis of factors from both the internal and external environments, identifying crucial risks that have to be addressed, setting objectives and developing plans of action
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) both in several local and English language in order to present and garner information quickly and clearly to a variety of audiences
- Computer: MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
