Job Description: The purpose of the Support Coordinator is to coordinate the support functions at an Area office and off load the Area Manager on support functions.

NRC has been present in Nigeria since 2015 and has been working to help displacement affected communities meet their basic needs, improve their livelihoods, access essential services, and enhance their resilience to future shocks through our six core competencies: water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), Shelter, Education, Information-Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA), Livelihoods and Food Security (LFS), Camp Management, and Protection. NRC provides immediate assistance during the onset of emergencies through the rapid response mechanism (RRM). With a workforce of 370 staff and presence in key locations such as Maiduguri (in Borno State), Yola (in Adamawa state) and JOS (in Plateau state), NRC is able to respond to the needs of those affected by the conflict across North-East, and North Central Nigeria.

Responsibilities:

Line management for support staff such as Finance, HR & Admin and Logistics/ICT
Member of the Area Management Group
Compliance with and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and handbooks and donor/auditor requirements
Provide input on operational support to Area Plan of Action, and to coordinate and align operational support with programme plans at Area level
Responsible for ensuring quality support to project implementation.
Facilitate Area Support Budget, area level budgets, including support cost
Responsible for Implementation of new country specific technical SOPs, guidelines and tools in Area (HR, Logistic/ICT and Finance)
Responsible for technical capacity building of support staff (HR, Logistic/ICT and Finance)

Qualification:

An advanced university degree in one of the following fields: education, economics, psychology, sociology or another relevant technical field.

Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree
At least three (3) years of experience working as Support Coordinator, Finance, HR or Logistics Coordinator
Previous experience from working in the Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states or similar context will be an added advantage
Degree in relevant management courses preferably Business Administration
Fluency in English, knowledge of local language such as Hausa and Kanuri is preferred.
