UNISFA Job Vacancy 2021
Org. Setting and Reporting: This position is located in the Transport Unit of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), duty station Abyei. The incumbent will report directly to the Chief Service Delivery Officer.
Eligibility criteria
Education:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) preferably in business administration, economics, logistics, transport management or mechanical engineering is required.
- A relevant first level university degree and two (2) additional years of work experience in a surface transportation related occupation may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in motor vehicle transport operations, movement control, multi-modal transportation, logistics management or a related field including, preferably, four (4) years of experience in a UN entity and at least three (3) years in a supervisory position directly related to the coordination of complex surface transport operations in the international environment is required.
- Proven experience managing a heavy duty workshop is highly desirable
- Experience in quality management is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of UN financial regulations and rules is desirable.
- Experience in international operations in a post conflict environment is desirable.
Languages:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, Fluency in oral and written English is required.
