UNMISS Job Vacancy 2022
Org. Setting and Reporting: This position is located in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), Aweil. Aweil is classified in the “E” category and as a non-family duty station. The incumbent of the position will report to Field Engineer and will work with teams of electricians to carry out electrical installations, repairs and maintenance as required.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Job – Specific Qualification:
- Recognized and valid license of the electrical trade is desirable.
- Technical training in electrical engineering technology or in a relevant technical discipline is required.
- Technical or vocational training and certificate in a trade (air-conditioning, refrigeration, generator, power supply, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, welding, etc.) is desirable.
Work Experience:
- At least six (6) years of relevant and practical work experience in installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment and installations is required.
- Previous experience in a post conflict environment or other field operations is desirable
Languages:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
