Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, International Relations, Political Science, Physical Sciences, Law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with seven years of relevant professional experience; or
- University degree in the above fields with nine years of relevant professional experience.
Experience:
- Extensive experience in managing and implementing humanitarian, multisectoral programmes in politically complex and fast-moving environments including at field-level. Experience in Triple Nexus programming a distinct advantage and proven ability to work across the Triple Nexus an added advantage.
- Proven experience in resource mobilization and spearheading the development of projects and programs in the humanitarian and/or Triple Nexus area.
Skills:
- A proven track-record of spearheading innovative, beneficiary-centered, and high-quality humanitarian programming integrating longer-term thinking around sustainability, social cohesion, resilience, and environmental impact.
- A track-record of successfully leading teams of dedicated professionals with a demonstrated commitment to support and empower national staff and ensure accountability of all staff to the highest possible degree.
- A proven track-record of establishing and maintaining strong professional relationships internally across different units and divisions and externally with donors, UN and other partners, as well as with Government actors.
- Deep understanding of the impact of conflict and climate change on humanitarian assistance and vice-versa and a demonstrated commitment to conflict- and environmental-sensitive humanitarian action.
- Proven liaison and negotiation skills.
- Strong strategic and creative thinking; Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Proven solutions-oriented mindset as well as an overriding focus on positive impact for the assisted populations.
Languages:
- IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish
