The NRC has published a job vacancy announcement on 27th November 2023 for qualified South Sudanese to fill in the vacant post of Security Officer to be based in Wau, South Sudan.

Specific Responsibilities
The specific responsibilities for this position include:
- Monitor all movements and maintain records,
- Ensure functionality of security items including Thuraya phones, Radios, CCTV cameras, etc,
- Report to HSSM, field office compliance to NRC safety and security policies, procedures and regulations on a monthly basis,
- Provide safety and security updates to AM on a daily basis and maintain an incident log for the area of operation,
- Send weekly security report to HSSM office every Friday COB,
- Build and maintain stake holders contact list and assist AM in access related and other negotiations/discussions with them,
- Conduct security briefings to new staff, visitors and staff returning from leave within 24 hours of arrival.
- Manage Security guards
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum first level university degree in Security related field
- Previous experience of working in Security department in a humanitarian context
- Previous experience of working in complex and volatile contexts
- Good understanding of the context within NRC operational area/s
- Ability to undertake security risk assessment and document it properly
- Ability to interact with relevant persons/authorities/ institutions to obtain relevant security related information for advisory purpose.
- Good knowledge about HF abd VHF radios
- Participated in Safety and Security related trainings/workshops.
- Fluency in English
