OHCHR Job Vacancy 2023

Org. Setting and Reporting: This position is located in the Commission on Human Rights in South Sudan (CHRSS) in the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) based in Juba, South Sudan. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Chief of Investigations of the Commission on Human Rights in South Sudan.

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or related area. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in human rights, political affairs, international relations, law or related area is required.
  • Out of the (5) years, at least two (2) years of experience in online open-source investigation/analysis/verification in the field of international human rights activities and/or international criminal investigations is desirable.

Languages:

  • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
