Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall guidance of the Project Coordination Advisor and technical supervision of the Procurement and Supply Chain Management Specialist, the Medical Warehouse Manager for Pharmaceutical and Health Products will be responsible for the following:

Storage and distribution operations:

  • Be responsible for all aspects and the overall management of the Riverside Warehouse, the Warehouse compound, Equipment, Security and all stocks of pharmaceutical and health products;
  • Responsible for all aspects of Inventory Management, Processes and Procedures of the Operations, including storage, reception of commodities, stock management, Quality Assurance, Order Processing, Dispatch and distribution of commodities, and all associated record keeping, according to best practice, plans and procedures;
  • Be responsible for managing stock integration operations for partners such as UNICEF, PEPFAR and other partners into the warehouse;
  • Provide leadership and supervision of the Supply Chain Management team at the Riverside Warehouse, and develop work plans and priorities, monitor achievements and evaluate performance of staff, including providing capacity building support to the warehouse staff;
  • Oversee the use and strengthening of the LMIS for all aspects of SCM, Inventory Management and Reporting;
  • Identify, analyze, and recommend feasible options to strengthen the health supply chain and logistics management information systems for medicines and health commodities;
  • Conduct Supply Chain and Inventory analysis, including pipeline, stocks, consumption, processes, etc. to provide a full picture of commodities and minimize stock-outs and overstocks;
  • Ensure that expired, obsolete and discontinued products are handled and disposed according to policy and procedures;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Global Fund Coordination Advisor and Management Team.

Participate in Adverse Drug Reaction reporting:

  • Participate in formulation of national ADR report, and associated trainings for relevant counterparts;
  • Elaborate and facilitate training on Pharmacovigilance;
  • Collect and prepare an analysis report on the Pharmacovigilance in South Sudan.

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

  • Masters degree with 7 years or Bachelors degree with 9 years experience in Supply Chain management, Pharmacy, Public health, or other health related field.

Experience:

  • At least 7 years of progressive work experience in Supply Chain;
  • Management, and logistics management information system;
  • Experience in the GFATM programme including core supply Chain Management is a plus;
  • Experience of UN or UNDP procurement policies and procedures is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to write sound technical reports;
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of quality donor reports;
  • Understanding of health-related issues, having training on HIV/TB/Malaria will be an advantage;
  • Proficiency in common computer applications, Word, Excel, etc. and experience with an LMIS software;
  • Proficiency in LMIS software especially m-Supply would be an asset;
  • Experience working with South Sudan Ministry of Health programmes is preferred;
  • Excellent planning, coordination, prioritization, and time management skills;
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make independent judgment and decisions;
  • Ethical conduct in accordance with recognized professional and organizational codes of ethics;
  • Proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented, and results-oriented. Ability to work collaboratively.

Language:

  • Fluency in English language and knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage.
