Purpose of the Assignment: The purpose of the consultancy is to work with Nutrition Section to provide technical support and to coordinate nutrition intervention in the Greater upper Nile states (Jonglei, Unity and Upper Nile).
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualifications required/ Education and Professional Background:
- Advanced University degree in Nutrition, Public health, and Public Health Nutrition, Global health Nutrition or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of professional work experience implementing and monitoring nutrition interventions. Solid experience working with NGOs and the Ministry of Health, particularly in developing countries and in humanitarian settings.
- Experience leading national level engagement, government agencies, stakeholders, decentralized planning and working with development partners and networks on decentralized services.
- Familiarity and understanding of the multi-sectoral nutrition coordination, national and county cluster coordination platforms for Health/Agriculture/Education, etc. A strong understanding of working with any of the MSN departments (Health Agriculture/Education/Social Protection/WASH and Early Childhood development).
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:
- Excellent facilitation skills and ability to organize and implement training
- Negotiation, oral and written communication skills including reports preparation
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, and proven interpersonal skills
- Experience in building successful relationships with government counterparts, UN agencies and other relevant partners
- Ability to cope with hardship conditions
- Knowledge of computer management skills
- Extensive experience in conducting evaluations of development and research projects, and ability of combining different evaluation tools to capture project outcomes and processes as well as a proven record in delivering professional reviews
- Experience of carrying monitoring and supportive supervision of nutrition programmes is critical
