UNMISS Job Vacancy 2022
Org. Setting and Reporting: This position is located in the Media Relations Unit within the Communications and Public Information Section of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), Juba. Juba is classified in the “E” category and as a non-family duty station. The Incumbent directly reports to the Spokesperson and Head of Media Relations Unit.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in communication, journalism, international relations, political science public relations or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in public information, journalism, international relations, public relations, or related area is required.
- Experience with conflict settings and crisis communications is required.
- Experience managing media relations in an international setting is required.
- Experience drafting and editing communications content in a politically sensitive environment, including press releases, press lines, talking points and media analysis reports is required.
- Experience working in the region is desirable.
Languages:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English, both oral and written are required. Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
